I saw a girl on the street here in New York yesterday with a T-Shirt that read “Take me to the west coast” — doubly ironic, since several left coast newspapers recently reported that “The Exodus from California is On.” This follows on to an Economist (or maybe NYT?) article a while back suggesting that the era of California driving American culture and economy is perhaps over.

Madison has been good to me lately… Spent last weekend at the state fair and then sailing — a beautiful day out on the lake with a ton of A scows racing .

I’ve been suffering from a bit of gadget lust lately… Gizmodo : The gadgets weblog is a great read if you like to keep on top of the latest shiny objects.

From here, I’m heading to Portland for AdMonsters IX, and then down to San Francisco for a week before returning to the midwest the start of Fall semester. I hear my friend John Sloan has finally returned from London to live in SF again…
